Explore the separation research that shaped us

Plain-language research to help you understand how others have experienced separation, and why we need to find a better way.

A family roadmap built from real experience

Family.Reimagined’s model is informed by lived experience and by the Australian Separation Experience Survey conducted in July 2026.

The survey received 200 responses from people who had experienced or were experiencing separation. It was a self-selected survey and is not presented as a representative sample of every separating family. It provides valuable insight into participants’ experiences, pressures and views about what was missing.

The full survey questionnaire can be viewed here.
